Our system lets a party take total power on a minority of the vote. That is how the Tories forced through the Trade Union Act and the minimum service levels law, attacking our right to strike. Every gain our movement wins can be torn up the same way.
Change has always come through organising. Now the Prime Minister has announced a National Commission on Electoral Reform, and promised that Labour will fight the next election on a pledge to change the voting system.
This is the moment our movement has campaigned for. The Commission must be set up without delay, and trade unionists must have a seat at the table.
